| Description: | Expressions of interest : Consultant for Senior Urban Mobility Specialsit Transport is one of the largest lending sectors in the asian development bank (adb), with a portfolio of over us$4 billion per annum. asia and the pacific region are experiencing an unprecedented growth and rapid urbanization that created a predicament in the transport. in 2022, the asian development bank (adb) approved transport sector directional guide (tsdg), aligned with the adb strategy 2030 to address the unprecedented growth and rapid urbanization that created a predicament in the transport system in asia and the pacific region. there is an urgent need to address this challenging issue, specifically in the developing member countries (dmcs), and align the interventions with adbs long-term strategic framework (strategy 2030). sustainable urban mobility is a growing area for adb, and requires upstream dialogue, adequate planning, programmatic approach, sound project preparation and often requires reforms to ensure smooth transition. improving mobility conditions and meeting the objectives of the international agreements such as the sustainable development goals and the paris agreement also requires knowledge and sound coordination among partners. knowledge sharing and coordination of sustainable transport activities underpin effective implementation of the tsdg. other than sound planning, conceptual design and project preparation, developing and sharing knowledge events and products that raise awareness of the impacts and the potential benefits from sustainable transport with key stakeholders within and outside of adb is a critical activity that will galvanize support for alternative and innovative interventions. The international consultant (senior urban mobility specialist) will provide myc asia program manager services during the transition between the myc asia program phase 1 and phase 2 (from july 2023 to june 2024).
