This GHG training course in Singapore aims to provide participants with knowledge of the risks and opportunities associated with the transition of the global economy to a low carbon economy. One of the key drivers of this transition is climate change, and global policy efforts to minimise the impacts of climate change - led by international negotiations and the Paris Agreement. This global policy framework is used by nations then to develop national climate change policy. In addition to regulatory risks and opportunities, there are a number of interested stakeholders who are increasingly requesting information from businesses about their exposure to climate risk.
Risks such as social license, access to credit and equity, market-related risks and technology risks are also explored in this course. 2018 has been designated the Year of Climate Action by the Singaporean Government, and regulation in the form of a carbon tax is in the process of being implemented - as such, the local context of climate change action will be explained.

Speaker
Marc is a chemical engineer, specialising in greenhouse gas (GHG), sustainability and renewable energy, with close to 20 years of experience in both operational and consulting roles across a wide range of industries including mining, mineral processing, oil and gas and chemicals/heavy industry. He will be speaking at the training course in Singapore. Marc currently works in the greenhouse gas space helping businesses understand the risks of climate change - both from a financial/transition point of view, as well as potential physical risks.
This includes the development of corporate GHG strategy, risk management for GHG issues, analysis of external factors relating to legislation changes and social license, reporting of energy and emissions, identification/evaluation of carbon and energy abatement opportunities and assisting with the management of carbon liabilities. Prior to this, Marc spent many years working in greenhouse gas and energy management as the GHG technical manager for a multinational oil company, and for Australia's largest specialist energy and greenhouse gas advisory consultancy.
The GHG training course is a good opportunity for participants in Singapore to discover more about climate risks.
