Lawrence Wu has over two decades of experience in corporate finance and investments, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and capital fundraising across the energy and infrastructure sectors. He is currently the APAC Chief Financial Officer of EDP Renewables and an Executive Management Asia Pacific Executive Director.

Lawrence is a co‑founder of Sunseap Group, one of Southeast Asia’s leading renewable energy companies, which was acquired by EDP Renewables in 2022. He also co-founded TRIREC, a Singapore‑based decarbonisation‑focused investment manager, reflecting his continued involvement in sustainable finance, climate‑aligned investments, and the broader clean‑energy ecosystem.

Earlier in his career, Lawrence held roles at leading financial institutions including DBS Bank, Macquarie, and BNP Paribas, where he was involved in complex cross‑border transactions, structured financings, and large‑scale project and infrastructure investments across Asia Pacific.

Lawrence has been recognised for his entrepreneurial leadership and contribution to the energy sector, receiving multiple accolades including the Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2015), the Spirit of Enterprise Award (2017), and being named one of the 30 Most Inspiring Leaders by The Silicon Review in 2021.

He is a Certified Public Accountant (Singapore), an ISCA Infrastructure and Project Finance Professional, and a Chartered Financial Analyst. Lawrence graduated from Nanyang Technological University with First Class Honours in Accountancy.
